3D Automated Optical Inspection
We use 3D automated optical inspection (AOI) as part of our standard SMT inspection process. This technology enables us to evaluate component placement, solder conditions, and overall assembly accuracy with high consistency.
Every SMT assembly that leaves our facility undergoes 100% automated optical inspection rather than relying on traditional AQL sampling. It’s a core reason we maintain a 99.8% first pass yield across all production.
In-Process Inspection for Greater Control
Through-hole and mechanical assemblies undergo multiple inspection checkpoints conducted by IPC-A-610-certified inspectors. Boards are inspected after each soldering step and each mechanical assembly operation. This allows us to identify and address issues early, before they move through additional stages of production.
In-process inspection supports stronger production control and helps reduce the need for extensive rework later in the build cycle.
First Article Inspection for New Builds
For new setups, we conduct a first-article inspection to verify that the assembly process aligns with the intended design before continuing production. This step establishes a clear checkpoint at the beginning of each run, allowing us to confirm that setup, materials, and output meet expectations before scaling production. When a new job or line setup begins, a first-article inspection validates the process before full production begins.
Certified Inspectors
All inspections are performed by IPC-A-610-certified inspectors. IPC-A-610 is a globally recognized benchmark standard that defines acceptability criteria for solder joints, component alignment, cleanliness, and other aspects of PCB assembly. By having our inspectors certified, we can give our customers confidence that acceptance criteria are applied consistently across all programs.
